I contributed an essay to Whiskey and Philosophy, which was published in paperback by John Wiley & Sons in 2009. Editors Fritz Allhof and Marcus P. Adams described the piece in their introduction: "Bunting's essay is one of our favorites in the volume, and one that must be read by anyone unfamiliar with the story of whisky in Japan."
I contributed two articles (one on revolutions and one on cultural "golden ages") to Big Questions in History, which was published in hardback by Jonathan Cape in June 2005 and in paperback by Vintage a year later.
I wrote an essay "On Aggression" for Big Questions in Science, which was published in hardback by Jonathan Cape in October 2002 and in paperback by Vintage a year later. The book was quite successful and was translated into several languages. (Please note that, contrary to the rather embarrassing impression given by the blurb on Amazon, myself and several of the other contributors were not "leading scientific thinkers". The book was a collaboration between leading scientists and journalists.)
